A Sparkling Afternoon of Holiday Cheer

We had such a lovely time at our holiday gathering this year.

Nancy and Lillian arrived in matching sparkly red Christmas dresses, which immediately put everyone in the festive spirit. Lillian was full of energy all evening—answering the door, explaining the ornaments on the tree, and chatting happily with everyone who came in. She truly was a delight to have among us.

One of the highlights of the evening was our Robbers Ornament game. We each drew a card from the deck while Nancy C called them out, beginning with the Ace of Hearts. When your card was called, you could either choose a wrapped ornament or “steal” one that had already been selected.

Margee went first and chose a beautiful ornament—but it quickly became clear that she had excellent taste. Her ornament was taken, so she chose again. And again. In fact, Margee ended up unwrapping four ornaments before one finally stayed with her! We all had a good laugh, and there were a few more exchanges before every gift found its home.

By the end of the evening, we all went home with something sparkly, unique, or simply beautiful—and with warm hearts and happy memories to match. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season together.
