WHO
WE ARE: Soroptimist
is an international organization for business and professional women working
to help other women be their best. Soroptimist
International of Santa Rosa is one of 58 local clubs in Founder Region which
includes Marin, Founder Region belongs to
the Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) one of 4 Federations around the world. SIA
has more than 1,400 clubs in 19 countries and territories. (Click here for a map of

WHAT WE DO:
Each local club establishes
its own scholarships and service projects based on the needs of the community,
as well as participating in scholarships at the Region and Federation level. (Click here
to read about some of our current projects)
LEADERSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES:
§
Club officer
positions and committee chairs offer members an opportunity to improve
leadership skills and play a major role in service projects and programs which
benefit our Santa Rosa community.
§
Members are
encouraged to participate on a Region Committees and run for officer positions
at the Region level. Club members have held the position Founder Region Governor,
SIA Federation Treasurer, and one member who has been both Federation and
International President. Club members network
at District Meetings, Region Conference and Federation Conventions.

MEMBER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
§
Members attend 3
luncheon meeting each month, including 1 business and 2 program meetings. Each
member should serve on at least two club committees. Committee meetings are
held in addition to the business and program meetings on an as needed basis.
§
The Fundraising
committee and the Service/Scholarship committee are the heart of the club. They
are also the most visible to the community, so all members are encouraged to
participate in community service projects and fundraising events.
§
Members have a
fiscal responsibility to pay on a timely basis any annual dues, luncheon fees,
and any registration fees for District meetings, Region conferences, and Federation
conventions.
§
Above all,
members should have fun and make new friends!
